SCAR II
Permicol food colouring added to rock pools. Red flow, like blood through vessels, connects the hollows like a marker. 'If you cut me do I not bleed?' Eastbourne August 2010.
Part of the Trace Elements project, this action is a comment on the fragility of the Earth and how capable we are as a species to exploit it with agression. Suggesting a graphic connection with the flowing streams between rocks and our own blood vessels, the idea is to make us empathise with the ground we walk upon.
